The Honmaster HM20D is a dual-spindle honing machine designed for processing small diameter holes in an automatic mode. The machine can be used in various engineering industries to achieve holes of the required size and roughness in components such as bushings, sleeves, cylinders, etc.
The machine is equipped with two columns, allowing for a complete processing cycle (rough and finish honing) without removing the part or reinstalling the tool, thereby reducing auxiliary processing time. Both columns of the machine can automatically move along the X and Y axes.
The honing machine features two honing heads, designed to expand the honing stones to a precise specified size. The radial feed (expansion) of the stones during honing occurs automatically. The degree of expansion of the stones is programmed through the CNC system. Due to the small diameter of the processed hole, it is not possible to use a jointed tool design.
As a result, a rigid type honing head is used, and the workpiece is secured in a gyroscopic fixture. The fixture has four degrees of freedom for locating the part relative to the tool.
The gyroscopes are mounted on a pneumatic "slider" type fixture. In the far left position, the honing head processes holes with rough stones, while in the far right position, it uses finish stones.
The honing machine is equipped with an automatic impact protection system against operator errors or unrecognized obstacles in any part of the cylinder. When starting a cycle, the machine checks for obstacles in the hole. This helps protect the cutting tool, stone holders, and the workpiece from damage.
At the end of the cycle, the machine automatically "retracts" the honing stones during the last stroke to prevent scratches or marks in the hole from tool withdrawal.
The built-in active control and shape correction system monitors the geometry of the cylinder during processing. In case of deviation from the specified shape, the system identifies the problematic area and automatically performs short strokes in that location. Additionally, the system displays a graph on the monitor screen showing hole processing relative to loads and phantom movements of the tool, allowing visual tracking of the active control process. The system also includes a function for automatic wear correction of the tool, which is particularly relevant for mass production equipment.
Machine control is performed via a touchscreen. The machine can also be operated using a remote control.
The Hontronik v2.0 CNC system, developed in-house, allows for flexible management of the technological process and adaptation to customer requirements.
The machine has a built-in coolant supply system with automatic activation. The coolant undergoes several stages of filtration. For rough filtration, the machine is equipped with a magnetic separator to remove metallic chips from the liquid, while fine filtration is conducted using full-flow fine filters. The capacity of the coolant tank is 200 liters. The tank is located at the bottom of the machine and can be rolled out for maintenance along built-in guides.
The machine is equipped with an automatic lubrication system for ball screws and linear guides. The lubrication station is linked to the CNC system. This system extends the service life of linear guides and ball screws, thereby increasing the overall reliability of the machine.
The Honmaster HM20D honing machine meets all modern standards and allows for a wide range of honing operations with high precision and specified surface roughness requirements.
