The Honing machine with CNC HONMASTER HM15
is designed for plateau honing of cylinder bores in internal combustion engine blocks.
The machine was developed based on many years of practical experience in engine honing and with the specific requirements of automotive repair shops and engine rebuilding facilities in mind.
The machine table moves automatically along the X and Y axes, eliminating the need for the operator to reposition the cylinder block during the honing process.
The Z-axis is servo-driven, providing high positioning accuracy and precise tool movement. This helps prevent the honing head from contacting the cylinder block at the lower end of the bore.
As standard, the machine is equipped with an automatic collision protection system. Before each honing cycle, the machine checks the bore for obstructions and alerts the operator if any obstacle is detected.
Honing stone expansion, or radial feed, is controlled automatically during the honing process. The operator does not need to expand the stones manually. The expansion amount is set through the CNC system, eliminating the need for manual adjustment to achieve the required bore size.
The automatic bore shape correction system performs dwell honing where required to achieve the specified bore geometry.
The honing head uses a reverse-direction expansion cone, which helps prevent taper formation at the lower end of the bore.
The load monitoring system allows the operator to control the plateau honing process. By adjusting the applied load and machining parameters, the surface profile can be controlled, including the ratio of valley area to plateau area.
The machine is equipped with an automatically activated coolant system and high-efficiency filtration. The coolant circulation system includes a two-stage filtration system.
The CNC system uses proprietary software developed in-house for automatic control of the honing process. The software is registered under Certificate of State Registration of Computer Program No. 2022618815.
